Carbonates and Evaporites
Carbonates are broken into 2 major groups by composition and by the types of materials in them - some have special names.
Limestone - Is made up of Calcite and Aragonite (CaCO3)

Coquina - the rock consists of cemented pieces of shells and fossils.
Reefstone - the main structure of the coral reef can be seen.
Oolitic -  consists of cemented Oolites - rounded beads of carbonate material generally of course sand size.
Massive - featureless masses of carbonate.
Dolomite - the rock contains over 50% Dolomite ((Ca,Mg)CO3)

Evaporites are named for the dominate mineral present.
Rock Salt - the main mineral is Halite (table salt (NaCl)) but will also include other salts such as Sylvite (KCl).
Gypsum - consists primarily of the mineral Gypsum (CaSO4)-2H2O.
Anhydrite - found only underground or in dry regions and consists of Anhydrite (CaSO4)
