Paradise I sit in a paradise Looking down at riches beyond compare. Things of great beauty, worth more than any jewels, Surround me in simple elegance. I sit in a gorgeous palace, on a throne Decorated with splendor more precious than emeralds. The most valuable and lovely treasures in the world Are mine to look upon with tears of joy. I sit in a paradise beyond all others-- I sit in the wonder that is a tree. ---Amanda M. Hayes (Note: This poem concerns the plot of a book I'm trying to write.
