Moonfire As the sun sets, the moon rises. It glows, spreading light throughout the sky. The stars come into view, forming shining patterns, And the clouds, blown by the wind, drift by. Many look up at the sky above. All over this world, we stare into the night. Some think they can see what the future holds, Looking at the points of light. Spinning, whirling, wheeling, turning, Moons and stars, and planets, too, Appear to look down from their places above; Silently, they are watching you. Comets of fire and shooting stars Rocket by, not held in place, Falling from the depthless void That we of Earth call outer space. Although day's end is black and cold, It holds bright sparks of fiery light. And while the moon looks down upon us, We need never fear the night. ---Amethysta Silverflame
