HISTORY'S LESSON

The dream begins -
 when we define the world we want.
The fight begins -
 when we decide the dream deserves
 our blood, our sweat, out toil,
 our tears and lives.
The world progresses -
 while we fight to see the dream 
 realized.

The world stagnates -
 when we decide torest
 with what we've won.
The fight is lost -
 when we decide that life
 means more than our reasons why.
The dream dies -
 when we lose sight of where
 and why we want to go.
