Here he is! :) thats fine hun your up so read Quel he'll read after Upon the mantle... upon the mantle it stood small, black and white, a vision of another time when I believed in might, and fought the battle with my arms held tight, but now, a mirror stands upon the mantle staring, and I look at the image and find myself smiling, laughing at what never was and see you there, shining, if I had tried to listen oh, those many years ago, what would be inside, here and for me to know, so I look at the picture I thought would grow, into a family, a heart and finally a soul, when all along it was there sitting on my mantle inside a mirror of my own eyes ©1996 Quelonzia/Terry Schorer *end* It's rough, I know... * Firesong_ applauds * Melanippus applauds very good Quelonzia Fantastic... I have enough trouble with titles! * Dragonheart calls Shadow_Dancer up and suggests that he give us the title (if possible) and then the poem =) But if you insist, I got very angry and depressed, and decided to put it on paper, rather than taking it out on the folks around me... Shadow whats your poem about * Shadow-Dancer points to his last comment, then grabes the 'Tipper', and begins to read... Vicious Circle . I drink deep from Life's chalice, But no sweet vintage I find. The draught is black and bitter, Pressed from hatred and malice, And deeds of grim and hateful kind. . The brew is mulled with sadness, And mixed with spite and with gall. It hardens and darkens my heart, And steals away my gladness, But now hear the worst of it all. . Bitter wine makes bitter heart Bitter heart grows bitter fruit. Bitter fruit makes bitter wine, Bitter wine then does its part To nourish the bitter root. . I harvest the fruits of my wrath And press them with seething thought. The wine press yields forth poison. Anger's putrid aftermath Is now my spirit's favored draught. . Anger makes my spirit vile, Dark and vengeful thoughts I think. I am alone and thirsting. Resigned, I fill the cup with bile, And deeply of the darkness drink. . ---end--- Very good... * Shadow-Dancer fades into the darkest corner of the room...... Shadow, that was beautiful very nice * Melanippus applauds Greetings! * Talon_Stormeyes sighs * Quelonzia huggles Solitaire :) very well described and very feeling S_D * Shadow-Dancer bows..thanks all Nooo I'm not going to go through all that *hides behind QUelonzia* * Solitaire applaudes anyway cause he saw it last week. very nice oops, sowwy, we're not supposed to discuss in here, huh? Caught by my betraying lies Or witching errors in your eyes I share my soul for you to see I told you what I though was true But was my vision really me? * And its all bloodstained edges, barbs. Yet smitten am I, I now realize, Struck to the heart by thy soft-glowing eyes. . I glide on wings, a full bow-shot long, High against heaven's cloud-vaulted span. Yet downcast am I, and all joy denied, For I soar alone, without Thee beside. . I have much of bard-craft, lore and chord, That I have learned as the ages passed. Yet silent, foolish, and songless would be, If such were the price of cleaving to thee. . Much wealth have I, within my lair lies King's ransom and more, in shining gold. Yet indigent I, and thus would remain, My gold gladly give up, Thee to obtain. . Blessed am I, seen through others' eyes, Perhaps indeed I should be content. Yet longing am I, for One I desire, In Thee, alone, is all I require. --end-- * Shadow-Dancer wishes his MTB was here to hear it... * Solitaire applaudes heartily. "Good as always, SD!" now where is that file! I know its here somewhere BRAVO! :) I love a good love poem! Wonderful... An exceptional portayal of love... Might I venture a title? Hmm? up next is Quelonzia with a poem called Winter's Dance Did you like the poem? Ohhh * Loiosh huggly-bubbles Quel =) * Quelonzia grins and mushy-wuggles Loi back ;) * Dragonheart calls Quelonzia up to the stage Winter's Dance She raised her head, from 'neath her wing... and sniffed the wind, tasting the air... a tang upon her forked tongue, dancing. Then twirling eyes, drawn by the leaves... followed their swirling revery aloft... reflecting bright prisms of light, shining. A tail uncoiled, brushing the grass... releasing its earthen smell. She stretched, languid and fluid... brilliant colors reflecting in a glow... ears attuned to the song of winter. At last, with a fluting call to the sky... she lept, wings unfurled to the wind... and soared to fly with the hanging clouds. The first snowflakes, delicate with lace... fell upon her upturned snout, melting... as her carnivore grin widened in delight. And she danced with the first snowfall... bowing to the Winter God's frosty breath... shivering with joy, twirling with happiness. © Terry Schorer/Quelonzia *end* !!BRAVO!! * Melanippus applauds wow great poem Wonderful!
