The fresh lush greens of sprouting rice, the springtime greens - of poplars, pines and deodars. Green, green, green - all overflowing with water and radiant in the springtime sunshine. Ten miles to either side the towering mountains wrapped, walling it in the length of the valley in the unbroken white of snow and mountain clouds. Not mere hills or peaks are these but Mountains - Himalayas - breaking the skyline. What else could history's poets have called it - but an emerald set in pearls? * end Wow! (applauds) * Kerm applauds that was good that was great Dad * Silvermist applauds DH happily. * DragonZap applauds and wonders what happened to +mi * Silvermist chuckles at her hatchling. beautiful * DragonZap huggles his mom (huggle 277) as we have a small group I'm going to try to skip the modes today next on the agendao is a a poem by SilverMist titled Kith ahhh.... * DragonZap listens up * Dragonheart hands RossP over to SilverMist as she comes to the stage THis one I wrote on the spur of the moment about my mate, and how he's allways there, no matter what. I looked up through the morning fog And you were there. I wandered through the deep forest And you were there. Everywhere I go, Everything I do You are with me. No matter the time, no matter the place, You stay with me. Never do you leave, though I may rage at you. You hold me close. Never do you back off, though I lose heart. You will hold me close. I am glad to be in your heart And you in mine. For you are my Kith, and I your mate. -End- * DragonZap hugs his mom...it's wonderful * Havoc_TR smiles and applauds. * Kerm cheers * Nycteris nods. * StormRyder applauds for such a wonderful poem and poetess * Silvermist blushes as she returns to her seat. * DragonZap *hugs* his mom again * Dragonheart smiles at the lovely poem * Dragonheart takes ross back and calls Havoc TR up to the stage to read his poem Indefference * Havoc_TR wanders up, knocks Ross over and stands on him. Indifference -- The rain which fell from purple sunset skies To splash the springtime puddle's silver glass Felt no remorse for winter it destroyed, Indifference for life it brought to pass. And storms which tore, then helped the blooms to grow Destroyed or nurtured, didn't care or see Yet in reality I just don't know Perhaps Earth loves her children just as we And laughs with thunderbolts to mark their birth And mourns to see them die on frosted earth. --end * Nycteris applauds! WOW thats a great poem * DragonZap claps his talons together * Silvermist applauds Havoc happily. * Kerm really liked that poem havoc Thanks. :> I like the meter. It's sort of a 2/3 sonnet. like I said, 30 points! :> * Silvermist chuckles. ok oour next poem is by my son StormRyder and is Storms * Dragonheart calls stormRyder up and hands him Ross * StormRyder tucks Ross under his arm and grins don't let the ears get in your way :> puny little dude ......STORMS.... . . We stood and watched the sky it seemed to darken in anticipation the very breath of air stilled..waiting Suddenly our heart beats faster as the clouds roll in deep, dark Ominous in their designs. . . The wind howls out its delight building faster and faster in its intensity. the ocean responds like a boiling cauldron churning as the waves reach up higher and higher As if to draw the clouds down into its very depths. . . Suddenly the skies cry out with a deep moaning sound the rain starts to fall, at first slowly then as if sensing your need it falls harder and faster. You stand there as the rain and wind beat down, letting it wash over you, with each stinging rain drop I can feel your exhilaration, your renewal I watch my elf slowly searching out her dragon in the midst of the storms fury. For a moment pain and sadness, despair and loss forgotten. . . My heart sings with the storms savage wonder I cry out to the skies, the sound of a triumphant warrior my hands reach out to grasp the electricity that crackles and snaps through the clouds. I turn and watch as it races through the air touching you, surging over your tired body returning to you a dragons fire and strength, that never left, only slept waiting for you. . . The fury of the storm turns gentle and soft the hiss of the wind turns to a sigh the sting of the rain turns to soft droplets Your hurt soul and body slumber as your tears blend with the rain for no one to see but those that love you. ..END.. Because sometimes brothers forget that little sisters aren't just a pain but a gift as well. Matt * StormRyder grabs Ross by the ears and hands him back to his Dad * Dragonheart hugs his son tight I'll bet she will love that poem for years * Silvermist smiles and complements StormRyder on his work. *huggles* thanks Dad * Havoc_TR applauds! I leapt to the air and took flight I headed for the hills, Where I knew my days were to end -- thats all * Silvermist huggles Thel for his beautiful poem. * StormRyder applauds * DragonZap applauds as well sad but very good thel * Havoc_TR applauds. And it's easy to remember. our next poem is another of Havoc's non-sonnets this one is entittled Seasons of the Sky * Havoc_TR wanders up... * Dragonheart calls Havoc up again and hands him Ross Seasons of the Sky -- He would walk from shadows of the woods I would freeze in place and hold my breath He outside in seasons of the sky I in paper seasons, paper worlds. -- If love could touch his heart it came as battle, Ripping sod and snorts and antlers' rattle, Spinning like a fencer or a dancer Trusting in the ritual of fall Never knowing of his trust at all. -- He paid his price for winning, in the end And somewhere in the woods one icy night The mice chewed up the last trace of his bones. He lived and died in seasons of the sky. I live in paper seasons, paper worlds. ---end That was beautiful Havoc. *Huggles* * StormRyder claps thoughtfully * Kerm applauds loudly, wonderful havoc wow * DragonZap applauds * Thelvaenir applauds * Dragonheart catches his breath ok this the second in our restarted weekly poetry series is about to end we have one last poem this week and then we will see you all next monday there will be a few short announcements after the last poem of course * Silvermist listens up. and of course the last poem - like the first is one of mine this one is another steal - from the same book and chapter as the first in fact Shalimar * * A red sun sets behind the Smoky mountains, while I ride a bus from home to home and dream again of Shalimar! * To be again with Arjemand and turn again at twilight to Dal Lake, there on cushioned ease to float till the glow of sunset fades upon the flaming waters and the moon waxes large above the amptheater walls. Then down a glittering path our gondolier would take us to the gates of Shalimar. The enchanted garden of love Built as a poem in verdure and and falling water sensous with flowered perfumes and musical with splashing fountains. There to steal again across the lotus covered lake and disembark with her upon the garden's marbled shores. * end * Havoc_TR applauds! * Kerm claps, awsome dad ;) * Thelvaenir applauds aussi * StormRyder applauds loudly great Dad * DragonZap applauds ok my thanks to you all for coming and joining us tonight and especially to the poets who brought stuff for us to hear * Silvermist applauds DH belatedly. we will be meeting here every Monday from now on at 6 pm PST for the weekly reading * Silvermist smiles. logs are available from me starting tuesday evenings and there are drinks and muncchies during the breaks and after the readings * Dragonheart hands out his patented drinking flagons, goblets and tumblers to any and all that want them - enjoy folks * Silvermist chuckles. * Dragonheart passes around a huge platter of meats, cheeses, fruits, veggies, breads, crackers, chips, dips, and spreads Thanks DH. *grin* I hope I see you all here next week for the 24 th AFD Poetry reading!
