A poem with taste! Very nice! very good Bravo! * Pangea applauds... A good pun that, "thyme." Makes for a good theme to the poem. heheh our next poem is a piece titled Burn written by LAdyHawke who couldn't be here today it will be read by Ross here (pat on bald head) * Dragonheart hands the scroll to Ross to read . ------------------------------------------- . Burning . treading on ice . not knowing where the next break will be . how much further is there to fall . wishing for peace in darkness . instead of these burning nightmares . where have all the stars gone . who will show them to me again . this cold burning fire . is there an end? . ------------------------------------------- Ladyhawke * Chanty claps I like it Ladyhawke! I applaud! The 4 am feeling. I've run into it once or twice. * Pangea applauds loudly... nah, ya didn't miss it ok our next poem is by my granddaughter Crimson moon and it too will be read by ROss its title is the Garden * Dragonheart hands Ross a scroll The Garden * Come to the garden See the buds that never lived And never will. * Walk in the garden The pedals that were alive But now are dead. * Talk in the garden Whole flowers that have wilted And will never be again. * Come to the garden My garden of death... *end Crimson-Moon/Niky wow...talk about morbid... * Havoc_ applauds- sadly. that's like, totally gothic...but vrey beautiful, almost fragile in a way Well done! * Dragonheart takes the scroll back from Ross and comments to Crimson-Moon a strong but very dark poem hun * Chanty applauds Wow, Niky! Dark one. But darkness is a part of life too. I guess I'm up. our next poem is the first of a series of love sonnets by our raptor sonnetmeister Havoc this one is simple titled Love 1 * Dragonheart calls havoc up th the stage * Havoc_ darts to the stage, grabs Ross by the ears and kicks him a couple times. Love #1. You can probably guess the titles of the other two sonnets tonight. :) -- What is this Love? And why should lovers care? You open up your heart, you risk great pain And yet to each it blesses it is gain The very greatest gift, beyond compare. It's not that love will gain you greater wealth Or make you famous, make you less a fool; For learning, better far to stay in school, For saftey, better hide within yourself. And yet, a loveless life is living death And loveless wealth is cold and heartless cash And loveless knowledge dry and dusty trash And loveless poetry a waste of breath. For nothing in the Earth or skies above Has life or color, save in light of Love. --end nicely done as ususal Havoc Ahh, Havoc. Very nice indeed. Bravo! Well done!! * Chanty applauds very good our next poem is by our young freind the poetess Jecenity her poem is titled Soul * Dragonheart calls Jecenity up to read * Dragonheart hands Rposs over to Jecenity touse aas a reader ok looks like Jec lagged out so that brings up our next poetess Jenn2 jenn has an untitled poem for us * Dragonheart calls Jenn up to read oh... * Jenn2 giggles sorry, got lagged... okay, here goes... Dormant and weak, black pervades, invades, lack of strength, the only testament. Vague thoughts, will of nothing, lies so willing, the world is grey. Everyone knows no one, There is no feeling, no concern, no care, for what we are not. Grasping, praying, for a light of hope, hope that which we will never have. everyone bides their time, waiting for the final thing to come upon them as the plunge deeper. *end* * Heatherica applauds. * Havoc_ applauds. Bravo! * Chanty claps dragon, i may have a fourth to read tonight, working on one now * Solitaire sighs. Re. our next poen comes via a scroll from Wolf Wings/Mneumenth while he is having troubles with the server demons and CHat clients we can still enjoy his poem titled Dragon's Wings To soar on a dragon's wings, to fly and feel so free, to soar on a dragon's wings, that is the life for me... - To turn and twist, roll and dive, To fly, and soar, juke and jive, To glide the airways, and soar with the birds, To bugle and trumpet, over endless woods, To glide all day, and glide all night, To drop down, and pull your wings tight, To dive down, and then pull up... To swoop and swoon, like a dragon in love... - To soar on a dragon's wings, to fly and feel so free, to soar on a dragon's wings, that is the life for me! - No slave to the ground, my wings, the sky's sails, awash in the sunlight, bouncing off my scales. Watching the world, vanish below me, letting the air, embrace and hold me, high above the troubles below, that slaves to the ground, must oh so well know... Surrounded by air, I can never hold back, So long as there's sky, A dragon am I, And fly shall I... - To soar on a dragon's wings, to fly and feel so free, to soar on a dragon's wings, that is the life for me! . end * Heatherica applauds. * Shadow-Dancer applauds!!! * Havoc_ applauds! Flying must be nice. If you can't RUN, of course. :) * Chanty applauds bravo Mneu * Solitaire sighs and applaudes, even tho he missed it. Hello Myopic! Hi Myopic now we will see if we can get things sorted out and back into the proper order our next poet is Shadow-Dancer with a poem tentatively titled Dreams * Dragonheart calls SD up to the stage and hands him Ross_P. * Shadow-Dancer takes the stage, and begins to read..... ---The Dream--- . Tell me again how good it is To live in this day and age, When our streets are filled with bloodshed, And our children are filled with rage. . This is not the shining land For which our fathers bled This is not the land of dreams That giants built and led. . Tell me again how great we are, Who live in this land today. When our streets are filled with strangers, Each trapped in his own lonely way. . This is not the shining land To which the pilgrims came. This is not the land they built In anything but name. . The dream lies shattered, broken Trampled into the dust. Be not afraid to stand for the Dream, Even standing alone if you must. . That is how this shining land Was made in ages past, By dreamers filled with courage Bravely standing fast. . The dream can be rekindled, Once more shine bright indeed, If we will stand beside our brother, Regardless of his race or creed. . This was once a shining land, With work, 'twill shine again. Can we rise above ourselves And let the work begin? * Shadow-Dancer hastily returns to his place in the shadows..... * Heatherica applauds. This poem is very touching...and it touches on raw nerves. For only Shadow Dancer got give these thoughts such Verve. THis poem has touched on many issues that are dear to me....it shows that there is hope for the World I wish could be. Bravo, SD! Bravo indeed! * Merina hides now * Solitaire grins at Merina! * Havoc_ applauds. True, problems. True, hope. * Chanty applauds that was excellent Thanks, Y'all * Merina smiles knowingly at SD Hello SmokeWing! Hello, Solitaire. :) Greetings SmokeWing! Good eve, Dancer. :) since Jecenity has been captured by the lag monsters again as well as the server demons prolly we will skip over her poem again now who will get back first - Jec or heather? first one back is our next poetesss well it looks like Jec might be joining us - in about 300 seconds while we wait lets take our between rounds break now - food and drinks are available in #Kelekona if you have a poem for round 2 please let me know welcome back for round 2 since we don't have much in the way of a round 3 we will be adding those poems to the end of round 2 our first 2 poems will be read by Ross_P as the poetesses couldn't make it here tonight the first is another dark piece by Crimson-Moon titled The Guns Fire * Ross_Periot takes the scroll and starts to read The Guns Fire * The guns fire I am shot and wounded. . I tried to save them But they pulled me away Instead of taking me they shot me. And left me to die. . I reach out and scream But they can't respond to me. As I watch them Led, Flanked, and Followed with guns. I want to die. . No one knows the way I feel. My life is over. . My body is losing blood And I know I will die, But I feel no pain. . My husband, baby, and life are gone. My flame had been flickering in the dim light But like it was a single candle I has been blown out. The flame is gone and I feel pain for the first time. * end Crimson-Moon/Niky * Merina is moved * Sev applauds. Powerfull imagery Niky! * Havoc_ applauds. This one is tough to handle for me. Well done! Thought-provoking... * Kerm claps loudly * Chanty applauds * Lillieth claps and smiles. * SmokeWing ((laughs out loud..)) * Jenn2 claps oops. window. our next poem is by Ladyhawke this one is titled Precious * Ross_Periot takes the next scrolll and starts to read .------------------------------------------- .----'--^-,---{@ . Precious .It can be very dangerous, to give fully .All that the heart can offer. .You can be torn apart, .Or you can recieve equally, .A gift as precious as the one you give. .thinking of you thinking of me .@}---'---,---- .Ladyhawke Oh, that was very nice Ladyhawke! * Havoc_ applauds! NIce! /me applauds. * Chanty claps very good Ladyhawke * Kerm cheers and aapplauds -a one always hopes that love affairs work out like that our next poem is the second in Havoc's series of love Sonnets * Dragonheart calls Havoc up to read his Sonnet * Havoc_ takes the stage. Love #2 So who am I to speak of love at all? It's something I myself have never known. My fate in life to always be alone, Though once, so long ago, I heard its call. She didn't love me back. Of course, I cried. But I have loved each woodland bird and tree With depth and wonder, though they can't love me, And I have known love's loss when loved ones died. ANd I have lived and sacrificed for friends Believing that I care more than they do, That come some day they'll think our time is through, Though in my mind a friendship never ends. But one good thing comes from these fool's mistakes. I know I have a heart. Because it breaks. ---end Ah, Havoc. Truly marvelous. * Lillieth wipes away a tear and begins to applaud. * Havoc_ hides a bit. That one is not easy. that was wonderful or next poem will be read by RainbowDragon for his friend Ravensong it is titled Outland * Dragonheart calls RanibowDragon up to read Due to technical difficulties, RavenSong is not able to read this herself, so I am doing so in her place "Outloud" by RavenSong . I speak my thought, fears, desires. Tell of visions, hopes, dreams. But never out loud. . My mind screams questions I ask for answers But never out loud, . I look to others for comfort Gliding close to real connection But never out loud. . Someday my words will find release Flow out to receptive souls Maybe out loud . I will unburden my heart Share all within and become whole Finally...out loud . End * Solitaire nods in appreciation. "I like it a lot RavenSong!" * Havoc_ applauds. Opening up is never easy. I like it. * Chanty applauds very good RavenSong * RnbowDragon smiles at RavenSong * RavenSong thanks you all * Lillieth smiles, "Very nice, Ravensong." I liked it Thank you for reading it, Rnbow It was my pleasure! thank you rainbow and RavenSong for combining to bring us that poem the next poem is one of my old ones from the days when WildBill was still trying to find a mate its titled Jeweled Ladies ____________________Jeweled Ladies_____________________ Like a dusky beauty smoky quartz is smooth, well formed and mysterious. As a ruby is stareyed and full of deep rich flames so to is a redheaded lass. While a Blonde bedazzles the senses like a fine cut diamond and a flaxen haired woman hints of other lives like a piece of well carved amber. ____________________________________________ Good one DH! mmmm...that's...weird...makes ya think * Chanty chuckles and claps I like the imagery * RnbowDragon smiles * Havoc_ applauds. He has an apatite for more of the same! Bring out a beryl of 'em. Very good DH * Sev urghs. * Lillieth grins two thumbs up * Sev thwaps Havoc. * Jenn2 giggles at Havoc_ thanks Havoc that was a gem of a comment you made *laugh* I'd try to work in mica somehow, but you might think that's a little flaky. D'oh... our next poetess is Jenn2 with her second untittled poem * Dragonheart calls Jenn2 up to the stage to read * Jenn2 giggles hewwo again...this is Untitled 2... okay, this is a love poem of sorts... and I've not had much experience reading/writing those, so it's not very good...and tends to have my weirdness of questions without answers in it here goes.. tentativly reaching out, grasping hold, feeling victorious, feeling pure joy, what, who is this that has saved me? so long have I hoped for a rescue, it finally comes, within your words, I know now that I am yours, How could I exist without you? So long have I searched, Not once did I dare hope that my salvation could be both far and near as the setting sun. Perhaps one day, I shall Tell you these words, or perhaps one day you shall read them as my ashes scatter upon the winds. *end* Oh, Jenn... That was wonderful. Please, do more! very good Jenn * Kerm applauds loudly I gotta wait my time, sillies ;) * Havoc_ applauds. Sad, and good! Keep on with it. hm How comes to the more people apologize, the better the work seems to be? you noticed that too Havoc? Havoc_ -- Perhaps because the people who apologize hold higher standards for their work? apologize? Jenn, I meant that before the poem you more or less told us not to expect much. But it was very good. mmm, ah, okay our next poem is one we tried to get in earlier but the lag and server demons took our lurker poetess into hiding for a while please welcome back from purgatory our lurker poetess Heatherica and her poem Street Lights * Heatherica looks at the + by her name . . . I was afraid that ploy wouldn't work . . . ;-) * Heatherica is not apologizing at all tonight, so, as Havoc_'s earlier point indicates, you have been warned that it's pretty abyssmal. Streetlights * They stand along the street, Rank upon rank, guard the night Though dark tries to choke the land Each defends one pool of light. * Standing straight, stiff-backed and tall In knowledge of their duty Guarding humans from their fears And shadows' ambiguity * Many stand proud of their charge Sheltering in puddled light Human masters who can't deal With what lurks within the night * Some are jealous of the sun Whose light o'erpowers through the day But flees at dusk with little thought Of dangers that in dark night lay * Others weary of their task Though they would never fail their trust But gladly flicker out at dawn Though come dark they do as they must. * Streetlights, though built by human hands Have become more; just mark the way They stand, jealous, weary, or proud And keep the fear-filled night at bay * c1996, H. Wegemer Excellent Heatherica! Well worth waiting for! * Heatherica goes back to lurking . . . away from the streetlights, 'cause the #afd_poetry shadows are safe enough. Ooh! I like that one! * Kerm is shocked, that was excellent!!! wow...that's nice * Havoc_ applauds, and won't look at streetlights the same way for a while. :) * Chanty applauds, that was very good Heatherica Oh very nice! * Heatherica shakes her head slightly . . . You're all too kind . . . but thank you. * Sev chuckles. Incredible! our next poem is another of LadyHawke's pieces as before it will be presented by our reader for tonight * Ross_P takes the next scroll - this is titled Storm Clouds . storm clouds . wondering where my life is going, . wandering, in helpless solitude . silent tears, glisten, falling . where will i find the one who . will answer my heart's desperate calling . sighing, emotions clouded darkest blue . who will find me in the morning . when can love be shared so true . sharing dreams, hopes and stars in evening . the one sweet thing that has been missing . one colour of just the right hue . but when uncertain thoughts are whirling . you are not here to help me through . watching words appear, lifeless, staring . not understanding, smiling on cue . wishing i had courage, be daring . ask if this is your thoughts too . looking for when the storm clouds are clearing. .----------------------------------------------- Ladyhawke * Heatherica applauds. * Havoc_ applauds. * Ross_P tosses the scroll into the finished pile awww thats very good, Ladyhawke :) * Kerm applauds loudly and cheers Oh, my.... * Solitaire wipes a tear from his eye. * slate2 applauds as well my turn? * Jenn2 giggles * Jenn2 is obviously impatient ;) yes Jenn your turn okee :) do I start now? * Jenn2 giggles in about an hour Jenn *giggle* heheh, this one pretty much sucks...wrote it cause a best friend hasn't talked ot me in days, dont even know why...just suddenly stopped hearing from him... next with a third untitlled poem is Jenn2 *giggle* okay...here goes, already did the intro, so... hello Circe * theCIRCE smiles hi Circe c'mon DH, gimme that silly little +, it makes me feel special * Jenn2 giggles hello all * Chanty hides the +v * Jenn2 giggles what about the m? ;) * Chanty giggles And the i yeah, gotta give it all ;) ok young lady you wanted to read where is the poem? I wanna read, but I wanna m ;) *giggle* but I guess I'll start now... * Havoc_ waits. * Chanty waits and giggles * Jenn2 sighs and begins to read Untitled 3 What did I do to deserve this? This bleak feeling, of abandonement, loss of hope? I now wonder if you ever really cared for me, or perhaps, it was just your way of doing community service? did you help me in my time of need because you had to, or because you wanted to? What have I done that is so awful, that you must abandon me, in my time of greatest need? *end* * Havoc_ applauds. Sigh. People leave. Sad. * Dragonheart huggles Jenn2 a sad poem hun but well done very good jenn! "community service" ..nice touch ::applauding:: * Jenn2 yawns and sits in a dark corner * Chanty claps our next poem is the third in Havoc's series of love sonnets for tonight * Havoc_ wanders up. * Dragonheart calls Havoc up to read Love #3. - Is loving, then, or being loved the best? To know I'm loved would stoke my ego's fire And I won't hide my heart or be a liar. Yes, I want love as much as all the rest. For being loved means someone to be there A person who won't leave through life's harsh test Who'll alwayse try to share all of life's best A lifelong friend and shelter from despair. But if I'm loved and cannot give it back If my cold heart can't give love anywhere Then life's a burden, colorless and bare, For if you're heartless nothing cures that lack. So if between the two I have to choose, Then I'll love others, though it's love I lose. --end * Heatherica applauds. * ^Ladyhwke sighs and applauds... beautiful.... alright! hav! nother great one *hug* * theCIRCE claps wildly::::"wonderful discussion" * Chanty applauds that was great Havoc Thanks. :) * Shadow-Dancer applauds!!!! * Solitaire applauds!!!!!! ok nicely doone as ussual Havoc our next poem is a piece entitled Delight the Night and is done by our old friend theCIRCE * theCIRCE smiles * Dragonheart calls the CIRCE up to read her poem again..i apologise for the scroll... ~DELIGHT THE NIGHT~ delight the night feel the pulse in me keeping time with the erratic drum beat your heart answering soft sighs meeting sighs lips begin to explore hear the snare drum! subtle brush strokes of bodies entwined muted thumping bongos jungle chase faint steam of sweat primal urges rise double quick stattaco beat of heartbeats, heartbeats tension seeking tension's release primordial chants screams escaping me urging... pulling you deep into me drum soloing finding what i need crescendo calls igniting me and the bass drum pulses constantly keeping time to the cymbals crash and the tamborine sounds of your body in mine ~end~ * Heatherica applauds. * Havoc_ applauds and needs a cold shower. * Jenn2 giggles at Havoc_ <^Ladyhwke> wow..:> great..:> * Chanty applauds wow Circe that was great excellent@! * Solitaire sweats a little while applauding... nice little...um...forgot what they were called * theCIRCE grins Wow! * ^Ladyhwke applauds .... love the music in it..:> Bravo!!! it certainly did have rhythm * Jenn2 giggles did I make a punny? * theCIRCE giggles no Jenn you sure didnt our next poem is tentatively titled CHarm oh, pooh Not to drum on it, but punning can be a snare, especially if your bass. and is by Slate2 who has joined us toight and asked to particpate with therest soo please welcome Slate and his poem I wrote this peom for school Birds chirp happily side by side when I get near they fly and hide when I leave they fly write back I wish I knew what charm I lack end? * Havoc_ applauds! :) * Heatherica applauds * Solitaire applauds and grins. !!!! * Kerm whistless and claps * Chanty claps loudly * ^Ladyhwke applauds..:> Thanks I gotta go now nicely done Slate2 bye everyone well done! the next poem is a short one of mine titled Joy Joy a flickering fire, a starry night the one I love within my arms some seek gold or worldy power yet I have found a happiness that fills my soul and makes all other needs dissappear.
